An Introduction to Game Mastering:

How to use Tabletop Role-Playing Games to Collaboratively Produce and Create Stories

Organizer: Tan Shao Han

Intended audience: The intended audience for this workshop would be people who are interested in learning about how tabletop role-playing games (TRPGs) can be used as collaborative storytelling tools. The workshop will also cover how these techniques and approaches in TRPGs can be applied in the fields of storytelling in interactive media and computer games.

Managing Informational Interactive Digital Storytelling Projects

Narrative Analysis of Interactive Digital Storytelling

Organizer: Colette Daiute, The Graduate Center, City University of New York

When and where: 9am to 12:30pm, Seminar Room 3

Intended audience: The intended participants for this workshop are beginning or advanced researchers, instructors, and designers seeking methods for analyzing interactive digital stories and storytelling processes. Attendees should be interested in a brief foundation of narrative theory to guide strategies for analysis of digital storytelling and look forward to applying several narrative analysis tools to interactive digital storytelling examples. Workshop attendees are also welcomed to apply activities to their own projects and to discuss future directions of this approach. No prior experience with narrative inquiry is required.

Story Modelling and Authoring
